Reasons Why Rema will win Headies NEXT RATED over Zlatan

The headies awards nominations came in a jiffy and dropped the momentum it garnered just because some musicians were not nominated. Despite hard work. Scandals, social media engagements and the quality of contents dished out, the awards will always draw bad blood among music executives, labels, journalists and fans. Among newcomers, it is always a measure of longevity and relevance in an industry full of shows, popularity and love. The Next rated nominees are Rema, Joeboy, Fireboy DML, Victor AD, Lyta and Zlatan.

All the singers above serenaded fans with great music and lifestyle.

But the most revered of the six nominees are Rema, Zlatan and Fireboy and Rema has been tipped to win over the other two but most likely the closest competition will be between Rema and Zlatan.

Here are the reasons why Rema will go home with the headie over Zlatan:

1. Rema has led the new school with more cool trends:

Rema has been vested in the Pop culture and appeals to a wider audience because of his activities – his few braids, his water gun, his colorful masks and his choices in sneakers and styling – Rema has the characteristics of a winner. Zlatan has only influenced negative manners which includes getting arrested for alleged crimes in Cyber and internet fraud.

2. Rema has been likened to Wizkid:

Rema’s big break into music was welcomed with controversies about his sound especially when Nigerian music lovers compared him with Wizkid in which the teenager responded arrogantly that the International superstar sounds like him rather. Zlatan on the hand has been compared to just indigenous rappers like
Olamide, the man influential in his big break.

3. Rema is super-talented than Zlatan

Rema has all the attributes that will survive the weather and storms of the industry. Rema can make Afrobeats, Afropop, Trap and freestyles out of the blue. Zlatan has only stuck to his street vibes which will only gain listener-ship in Nigeria.

4. Rema appeals more to the international audience

Rema’s cool trends will appeal more to listeners outside the shores of Nigeria especially with his trap and rap skills. Rema was featured in almost all the international media outlets in just 2019 alone. Zlatan has never been featured except his ‘Killin dem’ collaboration with Burna Boy which appeared in the latter’s ‘African Giant’ album.
